Jean Simmons 31st January 1929 -  22nd January 2010 A favourite of mine - the beautiful Jean Simmons was born in London this day in 1929. She starred in films such as Guys and Dolls (1955), Spartacus (1960) and Great Expectations (1989). Jean was married to first husband, Stewart Granger, from 1950 to 1960.

Carmen Dell'Orefice Steals Paris Fashion Show Can you believe this woman is 85 years old.  Last Wednesday, the truly amazing Carmen closed Guo Pei's Paris Fashion Show in a red dress covered with red crystals and lace.  Simply breath-taking.

Sharon Tate American actress and model, Sharon Tate, was born in Dallas, Texas on the 24th January 1943.  Sharon made her film debut in 1966 starring in the occult-themed film Eye of the Devil as well as appearing in Valley of the Dolls which earnt her a Golden Globe nomination. Sharon married film director, Roman Polanski in 1967.  Tragically, on August 9th 1969, she was murdered along with 4 others by members of the Manson Family - she was 8.5 months pregnant at the time. First Ladies of the United States According to the White House, there has been 47 First Ladies.  Here are just a few: Former model, Slovene-American, Melania Trump has become the 47th First Lady.   She is the second foreign-born First Lady, the other being Louisa Adams in 1825. Lawyer and writer, Michelle Obama, was the first African-American to become First Lady.  She became a fashion icon, a role model and an advocate for the awareness of poverty. American politician and former First Lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, fought for gender equality and healthcare reform.   Her marriage survived the Monica Lewinsky scandal in 1998. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Ford was First Lady from 1974 to 1977.  She was the First Lady to announce that she had a long running battle with alcoholism and substance abuse and went on to establish the Betty Ford Centres.
