Eve Arden American actress, Eve Arden was born this day in 1908 in California.   For most of us, she will remembered as playing the Rydell High Principal in Grease.  Her film career started in 1937 and starred with top actors\actresses such as Joan Crawford, James Stewart and Groucho Marx.  Eve died in November 1990.

Jerry Lee Lewis Harley Fetches over $350,000 at Auction A Harley that was owned by Jerry Lee Lewis was recently auctioned in Florida.   Jerry Lee was there to watch over the sale of his bike and when the bidding had reached $325,000, the auction was temporarily halted whilst Jerry Lee performed Great Balls of Fire.   Once the song had finished, bidding resumed and went up another $25,000. The bike was one of a pair given to Jerry Lee and Elvis Presley in 1959.  When sold, the motorbike only had 2257 miles on the clock. According to legend, Jerry Lee and Elvis used to ride their Harleys naked through Memphis at night!!

A very well done to the Cherries who beat Bolton Wanderers 3-0 last night to secure a promotion to the Premier League.  Just to think only 6 years ago they were in administration and fans were collecting money to keep the club afloat and now they are off to play with the big boys. Mind you, spare a thought for James Lathwell, the Bournemouth Groundsman, who had asked for fans not to invade the pitch which they unduly did as he was hoping to win an award for the best grass in the Football League. Face Creams from Aldi Yesterday I came across an article in The Times about what good value the face creams from Aldi were.   With prices starting from £3.99, one online review stated that it was better than L'Oreal and Garner and the serum was said to be as good as Boot's Protect & Perfect.  Has anyone out there tried it and if so I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Sandra Dee American actress, Sandra Dee was born this day 1942.  She began her career as a model before progressing into film, becoming famous for playing wholesome girls such as Gidget in 1959.   Sandra died in New Jersey in 2005.
